The Death of a TravestyIt was a scene out of a movie, except this time it was real, more real and painful and beautiful than anything that's ever been caught on film. Twelve minutes 'till midnight and he says something beautiful. I can't remember the words, but by that time we were finishing each other's sentences. I finish his phrase with, “for me to go,” to which he nods. It was time to leave; it had been since the moment I'd arrived. One last, final kiss on the lips and I move to the edge of the bed and put on my shoes.
